SUMMARY:The Bridge Preservation Partnership Local Agency: Bridge Preservation (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:The Bridge Preservation Partnership Local Agency program is pleased to announce a Training Opportunity on Bridge Preservation through Coatings. The 60-minute training is specifically designed to teach the basics of steel bridge maintenance through coatings and is geared towards meeting the needs of local agencies. \nThe training will explain the basics of maintenance painting processes and how agencies can maintain their own structures with in-house crews. A coating system is the first line of defense in protecting a steel structure. This training will provide agencies with options that could delay the need for total removal and replacement of the existing coating system and the high cost related to those types of projects. \nThis virtual training is being offered free of charge. Participants will gain a general understanding of why maintenance painting is important\, how to identify potential candidates\, and an idea of the level of cleaning needed\, coating system\, and required equipment to perform the work.
