SUMMARY:Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE): Meeting the Information Needs of Road Users - Application of the Human Factors Guidelines for Road Systems (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:Webinar: Meeting the Information Needs of Road Users – Application of the Human Factors Guidelines for Road Systems \nDate: July 14\, 2026\nTime: 11:00 am to 12:00 pm PT\nCost: Free members/$79 non-members\nContinuing Education Credits: 1 PDH/CM credit\nOrganization: Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) \nThis webinar will summarize the role that user error plays in traffic safety\, particularly the ways in which roadway demands can exceed road users’ capabilities\, leading to crashes. It will also describe the Human Factors Guidelines for Road Systems (NCHRP Report 1148; the HFG3) in sufficient detail for attendees to user to grasp the breadth of coverage of the HFG3\, while also highlighting its ease-of-use in finding and extracting desired information aimed at improving roadway design. A series of questions will be embedded within the webinar to capture key ways in which attendees have used the HFG in their own work and to identify key barriers to implementation.
