DESCRIPTION:Course Summary: \nThis 2.5-hour virtual training teaches participants to manage drainage systems effectively and efficiently. Drainage systems are a key asset to maintain. Drainage maintenance is critical for extending the life of pavements\, as drainage systems control water flow along maintainable pathways. Routine inspection identifies maintenance needs and lessens the potential for flooding. This includes inspections of shoulders\, ditches\, pipes\, and culverts. \nLearning Objectives: \nBy the end of the session\, participants will be able to: \n\nList types of drainage assets to be inspected.\nIdentify information to be collected during an inspection.\nDetermine if the condition requires a critical\, major\, or routine maintenance response.\nSelect an appropriate treatment\, given the type of drainage asset and its current condition.\n\nThis course follows the guidelines and structure of the Federal Highway Administration’s Maintenance of Drainage Features for Safety. \nPrerequisites: \nNone. \nTarget Audience: \nAnyone involved in the maintenance of drainage systems or who is responsible for identifying and scheduling drainage maintenance work.
