SUMMARY:Utah LTAP: OSHA 10 - Workplace\, Equipment & Jobsite Safety
DESCRIPTION:Trainer – Robinson Vasquez \nThis course is accredited by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). It was developed by the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) in cooperation with the National Safety Council (NSC). The 12.5-hour curriculum is designed to directly address the core safety and health hazards common to the roadway construction industry. This program focuses on highway construction activities that are responsible for the majority of work zone fatalities and serious injuries and practical approaches to recognizing and controlling OSHA-identified construction hazards\, accompanied with “hands-on” activities to reinforce the formal instruction. \nPlease allow 6-8 weeks for delivery of your valid OSHA Card. The Department of Labor (DOL) OSHA Card does not have an expiration date. However\, since OSHA regulations change periodically\, it is recommended that you renew your training every 4-5 years. \nThe student course completion cards in Construction\, General Industry\, and Disaster Site do not have an expiration date. The form and content of additional training is left to the discretion of the student and/or employer. \nThe Outreach Training Program is intended as an orientation to Occupational Safety and Health. Workers must receive additional training on specific hazards of their job. \nTaylorsville USU Distance Learning Campus – 920 W Levoy Dr. – Taylorsville \nSept. 29th through 30th \nTime – 8:30 – 5:00 \nRoom 156

SUMMARY:Transportation Research Board (TRB): Validating and Using Non-Motorized Traffic Data (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:Webinar: Validating and Using Non-Motorized Traffic Data\nDate: September 30\, 2026\nTime: 10:00 am to 11:30 am PT\nCost: $100\nContinuing Education Credits: 1.5 PDH credits\, 1.5 CM credits\nOrganization: Transportation Research Board (TRB) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPractitioners have access to an expanding range of traditional and third-party data sources for walking\, bicycling\, and other non-motorized travel. Understanding the reliability and appropriate uses of these data is essential for effectively monitoring active transportation traffic. TRB will host a webinar on Wednesday\, September 30\, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM Eastern that will explore approaches for validating and using traditional count data and third-party datasets to better understand these traffic patterns. Presenters will share validation methodologies\, findings\, and case studies examining how traditional count programs can provide observed ground-truth data while third-party datasets can help estimate activity across broader geographic areas and capture temporal and seasonal patterns. Attendees will learn how to assess the reliability of different data sources and determine which are most appropriate for specific applications. \nFor more information about this training\, click here.\nLink: https://www.nationalacademies.org/projects/TRB-TRB%20EO-25-P-659/event/47232

SUMMARY:National Distracted Driving Coalition: Distracted Driving - Keeping First Responders Safe at Crash Scenes (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:Webinar: Distracted Driving – Keeping First Responders Safe at Crash Scenes\nDate: September 29\, 2026\nTime: 11:00 am to 12:00 pm PT\nCost: Free\nContinuing Education Credits: Unknown\nOrganization: National Distracted Driving Coalition \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDistracted driving is a significant public safety threat for all road users\, including first responders managing crash scenes. Wherever they occur\, crash scenes are a first responder’s place of work\, and we need to assist them in performing their duties by keeping them safe. Their efforts not only provide victims with the immediate care they need and families with the answers to help them move forward but also help prevent the additional loss of life. Many communities employ Community Risk Reduction (CRR) programs using data-driven education\, engineering\, and enforcement to prevent crashes\, reduce injuries\, and protect both drivers and emergency responders on local roadways. \nThis webinar shares information about three core strategies to support CRR: public education opportunities; data tracking\, and enforcement & policy. Presenters will present tools and available resources for effectively partnering with local schools (K-12) as well as driver education programs to host prevention activities and teen driver safety programs. Opportunities for using local crash data and/or telematics platforms to identify high-risk areas and times for distracted driving incidents as well as options to supporting local high-visibility enforcement and strict hands-free driving laws will be shared. Strategies available to first responders to increase their safety will also be discussed. \n\n\nFor more information about this training\, click here.\nLink: https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_n7oTehqwTd6QtFfgR0nURw#/registration
