DESCRIPTION:Using proper patching and repair techniques can improve structural integrity and restore rideability for pavements experiencing local failures. This 2-hour training compares partial- and full-depth repair techniques along with materials used to implement them. \nLearning Objectives: \nAfter attending training\, you will be able to: \n\nExplain the purpose of pothole patching and repair\nDescribe pavement conditions that indicate a partial-depth patching (PDP) is appropriate\nDescribe pavement conditions that indicate a full-depth patching (FDP) is appropriate\nSelect appropriate projects for PDP and FDP\nIdentify best practices for properly completing repairs and key inspection factors when monitoring an FDP\n\nPrerequisites: \nPlease complete the following brief self-paced training prior to attending: Asphalt Partial-Depth and Full-Depth Patching. \nTarget Audience: \nThis training is intended for personnel who select or apply patching materials in potholes or localized structural failures\, as well as personnel who may specify or inspect the work. \nInstructor: \nGreg Duncan\, P.E.\, is a Senior Engineer at Applied Pavement Technology\, Inc.\, with more than 30 years of pavement materials\, construction\, and roadway maintenance engineering experience. He is a certified National Highway Institute (NHI) instructor and regularly teaches NHI’s “Maintenance Leadership Academy” and “Constructing and Inspecting Asphalt Paving Projects” courses. Greg regularly works on national and state projects dealing with preventive maintenance treatments.
