The AKTTAP will present the first webinar of the 2026 series on February 9 at 1 pm  Alaska time. The presentation will be on the Denali Commission and its support for transportation in Alaska.

Title: Building Connections: How the Denali Commission Supports Rural Alaska Transportation

Abstract: Since 2005, the Denali Commission’s Transportation Program has improved access in rural Alaska through two key initiatives: the Surface Transportation Program (roads, trails, and transit) and the Waterfront Program (ports, harbors, and barge landings) through its unique authority and tools. The Commission is currently accepting Statements of Interest for construction-ready projects needing local match or gap funding, with up to $5 million available. Submissions are due by Friday, February 13, 2026, and participants will have an opportunity to ask questions during the webinar.
