The 2026 Rural Road Safety Awareness Week (RRSAW) campaign focuses on the many modes of travel found in rural communities and the strategies that can help prevent serious injury and fatal crashes on America’s rural roads. This second webinar will focus on:
- Working with rural transit partners and accessing data sets to map transit locations for safety improvement and analysis
- Improving safety for all modes by adding buggy lanes on roads that also serve bicycle traffic
- Improving rail crossing safety on the rural local road system through planning and implementation of substantive projects
- Understanding safety for freight in the rural communities
