The National Center for Rural Road Safety and NLTAPA Safety Work Group are co-hosting a FREE, 1.5-hour online webinar entitled Incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into Rural and Tribal Transportation Safety.
This webinar will be held Thursday, September 24, 2026 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm Mountain/1:00 pm to 2:30 pm Eastern.
In this webinar, we will be exploring several uses for artificial intelligence (AI) for improving rural and Tribal safety. These examples include using AI:
- To detect behavioral safety risks including speeding and distracted driving: Wyoming DOT
- To monitor traffic and road conditions, detect traffic safety events, and deliver real-time alerts to Tribal transportation professionals and road users through email, text messages, variable message signs: Yakama Nation
- In construction: Iowa DOT
