Utah LTAP: Roadway Materials

Proper roadway materials start at the foundation and continue through the base course and pavement. Topics of discussion include:
- discussing why good compaction is important;
- understanding the meaning of density and compaction;
- reviewing the nature of the moisture density relationship for compacted soil;
- investigating hot mix compaction issues;
- reviewing aggregates for different uses;
- evaluating stockpiles and stockpile handling; and
- considering aggregate testing.
