Course Summary:

OSHA 30-Hour Training for Construction is a comprehensive safety program designed for workers and supervisors in the construction industry. The course is part of OSHA’s Outreach Training Program and provides an in-depth understanding of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and regulations. The following topics will be covered:

  • Introduction to OSHA
  • OSHA Focus Four Hazards
  • Personal Protective and Lifesaving Equipment
  • Health Hazards in Construction
  • Stairways and Ladders
  • Confined Space Entry
  • Ergonomics
  • Excavations
  • Materials Handling, Storage, Use and Disposal
  • Safety and Health Programs
  • Tools – Hand and Power
  • Welding and Cutting

None

Target Audience:

Western TTAP’s primary service audience consists of federally recognized Tribes and their employees within the western United States. While we welcome participation from all interested individuals and organizations, Tribal governments and Tribal employees receive priority enrollment for all trainings. This course is for Site supervisors and foremen, Safety coordinators. Project managers, Safety officers, and Construction workers with safety responsibilities.

Instructor:

Scott Alquist has over 39 years professional safety work specializing in construction safety, general industry safety and hazardous materials. Scott has completed the National Highway Institute “Train the Trainer” program and is an Occupational Safety and Health Administration authorized instructor. He is the former Program Manager for Truckee Meadows Community College’s Safety Center.
