WESTERN TRIBAL TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Pesticides Applicator Training

A state-issued license to control pests and apply pesticides is required under Nevada state law. Licenses are issued by the Nevada Department of Agriculture. You must complete a general competency exam and a category exam prior to obtain the license.

This 2-day, in-person, training prepares you to become a professional pest control applicator and pass the license examination. The class explains pest control and pesticide safety concepts. Topics include safe pesticide handling practices, herbicide classification, environmental protection, and noxious weed control. It also prepares you for the G-4 (Terrestial Weed) category examination.

The training program is approved for Nevada Continuing Education Units (CEU’s). For license renewal, twelve credit hours are required in a 4-year period.
